MISSION STATEMENT
Laura holly Scotts is fully engaged in providing children from 4-18 years with an encouraging environment where they are given the opportunity to grow and excel in their dance education. We endeavor to deliver a high quality of dance tutoring, while encouraging each student’s unique gift of talent and creativity. We wish to inspire our students to achieve their fullest potential, to support them as they grow imaginatively and academically, and develop into well-rounded individuals as we realize each student should be nurtured in their own special way.
THE PRINCIPALS TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Laura Holly Scotts Dance Studio was founded by Laura Garner in early 2024. Laura trained at the Sue Garner School of Dance which was founded by her respected and experienced accredited mother, Sue Garner. Laura is the Deputy Principal of The Sue Garner School of Dance and is well established with the running of a dance school.
LHSDS teach the syllabus of the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA), a teaching method developed with the knowledge of children’s developmental stages. Combining Laura's teacher's knowledge and skill with BTDA’s in put, this allows young dancers to progress at a rate to which their bodies can safely grow and improve. Laura strongly believes that her school provides a welcoming atmosphere that develops self-esteem, confidence and respect for themselves and their peers. Adjacent to this they learn the discipline, etiquette and the joy of dance. She and her staff regularly attend teacher refresher courses to continuously refine and improve their teaching knowledge. Assistance are also monitored. Under her directorship, her staff works together to follow carefully planned syllabi in such away that is appropriate for all body types. Although students have different abilities, Laura and her teaching staff focus on individual improvement according to each student’s physical capabilities and learning styles.
